MPCA to publish final Stormwater General Permit for Comment
Members of the ISW Workgroup,
You may recall during our last workgroup meeting on May 28, 2009, the MPCA indicated that efforts were under-way to send the public notice for the draft permit to the State Register on June 17, 2009, a step that begins the public comment period. Furthermore, the MPCA indicated that a revised DRAFT permit would be sent to the workgroup by today (two days prior), for workgroup review.
However, the MPCA has realized that an additional week within this fiscal year is available before the materials must be sent . Therefore, the MPCA ISW team will use this time to continue work on the permit and associated technical fact sheet prior to public notice. Given the extra week, the public notice requesting comments on the draft permit is now expected to be sent to the State Register on June 24, 2009. The notice will then appear on July 6, 2009. As such, I will send the latest DRAFT permit to the workgroup on June 18, 2009, or the morning of June 22, 2009, for review.
